Philip Costa has been at Strettons for 15 years and is a Director and Head of the Valuation and Advisory Services Department. Philip is based at Strettons’ City office and deals with a range of retail, office, industrial and medical/D1 properties within Greater London but with a specialist knowledge within the north and eastern City fringes.  His clients include several banks, private individuals, property companies and Charities.

Philip carries out valuations for various purposes including Expert Witness reports for Court proceedings.  He also provides rent review and lease renewal advice for both landlords and tenants and is regularly appointed by the RICS to determine rent disputes as arbitrator and independent expert.

Outside of Strettons, Philip’s interests are his family, films, architecture and archery.

Areas of Expertise
  • Valuation: Preparing valuation reports for loan security, Probate and Capital Gains Tax (CGT), balance sheet, Charities Act valuations, portfolio and asset management.
  • Lease Advisory: Advising occupiers and owners on rent reviews and lease renewals of commercial property.
  • RICS Appointments: Being appointed as arbitrator or independent expert by the Dispute Resolution Service of the RICS in relation to rent review and lease renewal disputes.
  • Expert Witness: Acting for claimants and defendants in property valuation related litigation cases involving both residential and commercial property and providing evidence in court where appropriate.
