Double fronted former bank premises
We were instructed by an existing management client to undertake the letting of a double fronted retail premises, measuring 2,396 sq ft on the high street in Wanstead.
The main drawback of the property was that it had been extensively fitted out for its previous occupier which was a bank. The premises included partitioned offices, vaults and built-in stands. The use was A1 and the requirements from an A1 retailer is to have an open plan space.
We carried out an extensive marketing campaign and approached national occupiers requiring space in excess 2,000 sq ft. Letting was secured to Superdrug Plc on a 10-year term by way of an agreement to lease subject to creating an open plan space and building a small extension.
