Trio of housing associations appoint Strettons for property consultancy and valuation services

October 27 2022

Strettons has been selected for the professional services and consultancy frameworks of three leading London-based housing associations, providing affordable homes advisory across central London, the South of England and the Midlands.

Our Development Consultancy Department has been appointed by Notting Hill Genesis, Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing and Network Homes to provide development consultancy and valuation services across their property and development portfolios.

Gary Powis, BSc MRICS, Director of Development Consultancy, said: "To be appointed by three of London's largest housing associations to consult on their property and valuations is a real testament to the calibre of our team here at Strettons and their knowledge of the central and greater London market. Building affordable homes in and around the capital city is an ever-growing challenge. By offering consultancy and informed valuations of existing uses, land, commercial and residential property, as well as freehold and ground rent valuations, we can help charitable housing associations achieve real value for money across their portfolios and new developments."

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) is a member of the National Housing Federation and current Chair of the G15, which represents London's largest housing associations and influences policy to benefit its residents and the wider sector. It owns, manages and administers more than 57,000 homes.

From June 2022, Strettons has also secured a place on Notting Hill Genesis' Consultant Development Framework. Strettons Development Consultancy Department will support the housing association to deliver high quality homes with a focus on creating thriving communities across London.

Also a G15 member, Notting Hill Genesis is among the largest housing associations in London and the southeast, providing around 55,000 homes across the capital and a further 9,000 in the home counties. It has a development pipeline of over 12,000 homes in London, the majority of which are affordable housing. It purchases suitable sites to develop itself and works with the public sector and other developers to bring more complex schemes forward for development via partnerships or joint venture arrangements. It has a strategic partnership with the Mayor of London, pledging 60% affordable housing across our Greater London Authority pipeline.

Network Homes have also appointed Strettons to deliver a range of site and strategic valuations covering land purchase and assembly, rent and completed homes for affordable sales, as well as other advice and assessment during construction either on a desktop, full report or red-book basis for the Network Homes Development Programme.

Network Homes is a charitable housing association providing over 21,000 affordable homes for more than 38,000 people across London, Hertfordshire and the South East. It reinvests its profits into building more affordable homes and delivering services for residents.

Gary Powis concludes: "Our team has extensive expertise in undertaking valuations of residential and commercial units within new developments and existing stock. For new build developments, we start from the initial design stage, through various points of the development process, up to when the units are to be launched to the market, providing input to ensure that the best possible balance is achieved in design and end valuations.

We provide early market intelligence, assessments of the scheme's viability and RICS Red Book valuations. We're looking forward to working with the in-house technical teams on each framework to provide a range of consultancy services which support the delivery of new homes across London and beyond."
